Seller sign-ups now open for
Spring & Summer Sale
Please bear with us as we implement a few changes with the exchange sale.
Pick up of unsold items and money earned will be
TUESDAY, March 17 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm.
The first step is to click here to confirm your number and make a Drop-off appointment. We will advertise, display, sell, re-sort, and give you the money you make and any unsold items on the Tuesday following the sale. First-time sellers should click here to sign up & get a seller number. Then scroll down the page for directions to prepare your items.
IF bringing shoes, toys, or other non-hanging items, please leave a box or plastic storage bin marked with your seller number for us to re-sort and return any unsold items you may have left at the end of the sale.
IF marking any items "NR," please mark both above and below the cutting line. If possible use red or a contrasting color.
We can sell Safety Gates & Bed Rails, Nursery Gear, Play Sets, Bikes and Ride-On Toys, Rocking Horses, and Other Large Toys and Play Sets. Also, Children's Books and Movies.
Scroll all the way down to see the guidelines for these items.
Please, no parking lot or drop-off bargaining with other sellers. It isn't fair to other sellers or shoppers.
It also is a bit discourteous of the work that has gone into lining up sellers, securing a location,
organizing everything that comes in, and advertising the sale.
The Children's Exchange goes to every effort to make sure that every seller either gets the money for every item brought or gets the unsold item returned. However, we cannot be responsible for mis-tagged, lost, damaged, or stolen items. Nor can we be responsible for items damaged or destroyed
by fire or act of God.
- After registering and receiving a seller #, buy/gather cardstock and safety pins for pricing your items. PLEASE NOTE: For safety/health hazard reasons, we cannot accept straight (sewing) pins!
- SAFETY PINS are a MUST!
- Click the Tags button above to download tags to print on CARDSTOCK
- Price in WHOLE DOLLAR AMOUNTS ONLY.
- For directions for pricing shoes and other items keep scrolling.
- PLEASE SCREEN your clothes CAREFULLY!
If you wouldn't buy it, don't waste your time pricing it.
Due to space limitations, as well as supply and demand we will only accept your best,
brand-name clothing in excellent condition.
We reserve the right to refuse any item due to condition, excessive wrinkling,
excessive price, or overstock.
Also, limit clothing size 12 months and smaller to nice "going out" clothes. We do not accept inexpensive sleepers or onesies (i.e. anything that originally came in a plastic-wrapped multipack)
- Spring and Summer clothes only for this sale.
- Children's & Teens' clothes only. No adult clothes. We no longer accept maternity.
- IRON garments, button all buttons, fasten all snaps, bows, etc and hang on an appropriately sized hanger.
that is not ironed. We may reject or request that you iron anything that we do not feel will sell
otherwise.
- In baby and toddler sizes, things sometimes sell better if you hang outfits together and price as a set.
Place a tag or blank piece of cardstock that includes your seller #, the word "set", and a very brief
description on additional tags (just enough so that if the parts get separated we can figure out
what goes together) on all additional parts of an outfit.
- Price your item 1/4 to no more than 1/3 the original selling price. Keep in mind the popularity of each item's brand and style when pricing as well as how often that particular brand tends to go on sale. Savvy shoppers won't pay almost the same price for a used item as they would for a similar new item. A few exceptional name brands can sell for 1/2 or more of the original price. JUST FOR THESE NAME BRANDS: Matilda Jane, Giggle Moon, Mustard Pie,, Janie & Jack, Persnickety, Tea Collection, Mini Melissa, Eleanor Rose, Zuccini, Jelly the Pug, and Sweet Honey, Livie & luca, Well Dressed Wolf. This list may be "tweaked" as we move close to the sale. For these brands only, any season is okay.
- Hang the garment so that the top of the hanger looks like a question mark when you hold it with the front of the garment facing you.
- Attach the price tag with a SAFETY PIN to the right, heart-area of the garment. If you are holding the garment looking at it, the tag will be on YOUR RIGHT.
- Make sure to pin the tag ABOVE the cutting line.
- If you do not want the garment to be reduced to 50% at the Saturday half-price sale,
- put "NR" on the tag below the cutting line.
don't allow anything to be reduced you will still get the same amount you would have if the item had sold on Friday. If you DO allow the item to be halved on Saturday, you will receive 80% of the selling price.
As a side note, those who allow their items to be marked down typically make the same amount as those who have brought comparable items marked "NR" at the regular price sale, and make much more in the half price sale than those who don't allow their items to be reduced.
- Keep scrolling down this page for shoe pricing instructions.
- Come shop Friday and Saturday, then come back Tuesday any time between 3:00 - 6:00 pm
- to pick up the money you make and any unsold clothes.
Shoe pricing
- Shoes must be in EXCELLENT condition. We'll be checking toes & heels for wear, so make sure they look great before you spend time preparing.
- Attach shoes to each other with ribbon or a zip tie or almost any other creative method that will keep them together even with A LOT of moving around.
- Tape the price tag inside the shoe or in case of shoes that are too small for the tag to fit inside, put the tag on the outside bottom.
- When taping the tag, place tape at the bottom and top of the tag NOT over the whole tag.
Pricing Non-clothing Items
- Make sure the item is CLEAN, not missing any pieces, and in EXCELLENT condition.
- Check http://www.cpsc.gov/ to make sure the item has not been recalled.
- Secure the price tag to the item with masking tape at the top and bottom of the tag.
- Make certain that multiple piece toys, etc are secured together. Only one part should have a price, but all pieces should have your seller #, and the word "set" with the number of parts in the set. (For instance, a stroller with a car seat and a base should have a tag with the price on one piece, and each additional piece should have a tag with you seller # and "set 1 of 3")
- Baby items such as car seats cannot be over 5 years old or too close to their expiration date.
- BOOKS should be CHILDREN'S books in excellent condition Board books, picture books, early readers, chapter books, and series all welcomed.
- MOVIES: CHILDREN'S MOVIES ONLY (no rated R)
- Use the movie's original case. Check to make sure the correct movie is in the case! Make sure it is clean and not scratched. Remember, part of the tag stays on when someone buys your movie. If someone contacts us telling us they bought a movie that didn't work, you will have to repay the sale price.
- Tape the case shut and tape the price tag to the outside of the case, placing one strip of tape across the bottom of the tag and one strip across the top.
